Collection: GENERAL RESEARCH
GENERAL RESEARCH - Archive & Vintage Designer Collection
Founded in Tokyo in 1993 by Setsumasa Kobayashi, General Research developed a distinctive approach to Japanese clothing built around functionality, experimentation, and practical details. The label drew from workwear, military clothing, punk, outdoor equipment, and vintage Americana, reworking familiar garments with unusual construction and utility-focused details. Its 1990s collections, particularly the Parasite series, became known for multi-pocket garments, technical details, durable materials, and an experimental approach to everyday clothing. General Research ended its main line in 2006, later evolving into a wider family of Research labels including Mountain Research and Naval Research.
At Sundaynightmare, we curate selected General Research archive and vintage pieces from the 1990s and early 2000s alongside Japanese and international designer clothing. Our selection explores Japanese archive fashion through functional outerwear, utility clothing, military-inspired pieces, workwear, and rare Parasite-era garments. Discover authentic General Research vintage and designer archive clothing at Sundaynightmare, with worldwide shipping available from Bangkok to collectors and fashion enthusiasts around the world.
